Yoga Classes

We hold yoga classes at Semaphore Uniting Church and in the back hall

Mondays 11am – Chair yoga

Tuesdays 6.30pm – 8.00 pm – Hatha Yoga

Thursdays (during term time) 9.15am – 10.15am – Stretch and Balance

Thursdays 6.30pm – 8.00 – Yin Yoga

This basic class is a good introduction to yoga, and is well suited to beginners, the elderly and more advanced students. Yoga is an excellent way to assist with health, fitness and relaxation. These are run by wider community people and there is a fee for these classes.

Meditation

Wednesdays 6pm – 7pm

Thursdays 1.30 – 2.30 – Spiritual Hour

Spiritual Hour is a time where people are invited to bring along a spiritual writing to share with the group (up to 1 page). We then have 15 minutes of silent meditation in the Christian tradition or your tradition of preference.

Sound Meditation

Thursdays 6pm – 7pm fortnightly

Fridays 7pm – 8pm

Meditation takes place in the sanctuary and entry is through the side door off the parking lot or the front door of the church may be open. There is no charge for these sessions and we explore many types and styles of meditation from the Christian, Buddhist, Sikh and other traditions using contemplative, sound and guided forms. The aim is to become aware of true self and to allow the individual to live fully in the moment. Allowing the individual to let go of many of our cultures preconceived notions and expectations of the self and giving both techniques and confidence to move more fully towards one’s true self.

CHILDREN & YOUTH

We endeavour to create a welcoming environment for young people in our church. While we don’t currently have a dedicated children and youth program, if you would like to start something, please contact Rev. Frances to discuss possibilities.
